There’s an agreeable whiff of King Kong‘s Skull Island about this photograph taken in a wintery Central Park in December 2014.
Raiding another of those newly uncovered photographs from our 2014 trip to New York.
There’ll be no prizes for originality, but this photograph was taken from the Staten Island ferry on a nicely murky late December day back in 2014.
Although we went to New York at the very end of 2014 (and very beginning of 2015), and enjoyed a few days of whirling snow, we were also lucky to enjoy blue skies and winter sun. These photographs of the fountain pool at the Lincoln Center were taken on one such calm and pristine day.
Back in late December 2014, my husband took me to New York for the occasion of my 40th birthday. We had a really wonderful time and I’ve recently rediscovered a whole bunch of photographs from that trip, so you can expect a few more over the coming weeks and months. I really liked this image for its cinematic quality, though we didn’t eat at Fanelli’s Cafe that day, and I rather wish we had.
