Taken back in the summer of 2020, these photographs of a meadow kick-started something of an obsession with nailing the in-situ impressionism of fields. There was something so beautiful about this expanse of flowering grasses, so perfect, that I went all a bit weak-kneed and had to be dragged back to the car. One day soon, I will return again to this meadow and manifest some long-exposure light-based photographs, my mind’s eye teasing me with the way in which whirling lights would turn all those tiny flower-heads into suspended filaments in the dark. Like I said, one day…
