Chimera is my children’s book about a world of lost things – and the final episode in the audio adaptation has itself been ‘lost’, vanished by more humdrum stuff and a million less thrilling things. That said, the day has arrived at last, and I’m very happy to announce that Chimera Book 1 is now complete. I hardly expect anyone to remember what happened previously in Kyp Finnegan’s adventures, so I’ll be following this post with a mighty compendium of all twenty-one chapters. Huge thanks to Dan Snelgrove for working with me on this project and for bringing this strange world of mine so memorably to life – and no less so in this final chapter!
Last time in Chimera Book 1:
‘I’m looking for the Sin King,’ said Kyp, keen to be on his way.
‘You’ll come to a tunnel taking you out of the crater,’ Cuthbert told him. ‘The Gadlands lie geyond it. There’s a city. I suggest you look there.’
Cuthbert smiled in a way Kyp didn’t like at all.
‘No,’ the dummy said. ‘Thank you.’
