These photographs are of lichen found growing in abundance on some old fallen oak branches. Once photographed, they reminded me of bronchial cross-sections, or slices of brains—or giant oak trees, or aerial images of watery tributaries, or… I enjoyed the shifting of scale they produced and their retro science-fiction charms, which suited this week’s Kick-About prompt: “Fantastic Voyage”.
